To say I’ve been programming for a while would be an amusing understatement. Here are a couple of get-off-my-lawn factoids about yours truly:
- My first computer loaded its operating system via a built-in cassette tape recorder, and was attached to a 13-inch TV.
- I have actually used punch cards in a non-ironic way, although that didn’t last long. I believe the first time I dropped a deck, I decided to find a workaround.
- Upgrading from a 300 baud modem to a 1200 baud modem was done through tears of joy.
And all these years later, I still love it.
When I’m not coding for a living, I’m coding for myself, for fun. I like to have a little side project going most of the time, and most of the time, I deliberately create it using some new technology that I’ve never touched. That keeps it fresh and interesting.
I hope other programmers find this website helpful.
